A Classroom Beneath the Trees
In Singida, some of the most meaningful classrooms don't have walls.
There are no desks.
No projector.
No sound system.
Just one volunteer teacher.
Eager students.
A Talking Bible.
And soon, God’s Word will be heard.

Before anyone presses play, they prepare their hearts.

Some moments are too important to interrupt.
Students sit quietly as Bible stories come alive through audio. Without needing to read, they hear about Jesus, His love, His promises, and the hope found in Scripture.
Many are hearing these stories for the very first time.
One Student. One Changed Life.
You met 10-year-old Asha at the beginning of this story. She is one of the students who gathers beneath the trees to hear God’s Word.
“Now I have learned to love my family and my friends because of what I have heard.”
Before Talking Bibles, Asha didn’t want to attend Religious Education classes. But hearing God’s Word in a language she could understand changed that. The lessons became easier to follow, and she wanted to participate.
Asha explains that in her community, where knowledge and stories are traditionally shared aloud, students learn best by listening. Through the Talking Bible, she learned about Jesus, how God sent Him to save us, and what it means to love others.
Asha’s story is one of many unfolding in schools across Tanzania.
