Nagaji is a 30-year-old farmer from Rajasthan, a state in western India.

Like the other farmers in this semi-arid region, he spends his days tending fields of corn, wheat, and rice.

Like the other farmers, it’s the same work that his father and his father’s father did before him.

Like the other farmers, he has no education and cannot read.

But unlike the other farmers, Nagaji has a better inheritance than any field or farming knowledge.

Three years ago, Nagaji’s wife fell ill. He tried many treatments for her, but none helped. Then he took her to a local Christian pastor. When the pastor prayed for her, Nagaji’s wife was healed and the whole family became Christ worshippers.

“He is the healer, the new-life giver,” Nagaji says about Jesus. Now he is not only a farmer in Rajasthan, but a child of God.

Since that time Nagaji and his family have been using a Talking Bible to learn more about Jesus and grow in their faith. “It’s the only Bible for me! I am always listening.”

He harvests more than just food now. “This Talking Bible is not just for me, but for others also.” Nagaji says that his neighbors will sometimes listen to the scriptures with him, and they want to learn more. He hopes that they too will gain the inheritance of salvation.

Talking Bibles allow non-readers to hear God’s Word, to hear the message of salvation, and to learn and grow in their faith. New believers receive the best inheritance when they share in the promise of eternal life.
